PODCAST Explained

Following feedback from members, here is an explanation of Feeds, Blogs and Podcast:

Feed: This is a link you can subscribe to. This can be a feed to text, such as this Jamaat blog, or Audio which makes it a PODCAST. Jamaat has two Feeds:

Blog: http://feeds.feedburner.com/mksileicesterblog

PODCAST: http://feeds.feedburner.com/mksileicesterpodcasts

Blog: Like a diary where people can contribute to the Blog. The blog is also a feed which can be viewed on a Feed Viewer. You can add this feed to Intenet Explorer, Google Reader, Outlook 2007 and many more or just visit Jamaat Wesbite as all entries are published there anyway. As new entries are posted on the Blog, these appear as unread items in your Feed Viewer similar to e-mail.

PODCAST: At a basic level, this is simply a link to Audio MP3's. The power of PODCAST comes through entering the PODCAST feed into Podcast Software such as iTunes, Juice, Google Reader, Outlook 2007 etc.,. As new Audio items are added, these appear as new unread items, like e-mails, but instead of reading, you download and listen on your iPod, PC or MP3 Player.
