Death of Grand Ayatullah Bahjat

Ayatullah Sheikh Mohamed Taqi Bahjat

Muslims all over the world MOURNS the departure of His Eminence Grand Ayatullah Sheikh Mohammad Taqi Bahjat (may Allah bless his soul) who passed away in the holy city of Qom on Sunday 17th May 2009 and was buried on Tuesday 19th May 2009.

His Eminence was born in the City of Foumin in the Northern villages of Iran in 1334 A.H. and spent his life serving Ahl-ul-Bayt peace be upon them. He spent part of his time in the Holy City of Najaf as a student under the tutelage of the great scholars such as Sayyid Abu al-Hassan al-Asfahani, and Sayyid Abu al-Qasim al-Khui may Allah bless their souls. He returned to the Holy City of Qum continuing his work until he became one of its renowned Jurists.

We pay our condolences to the Imam of our time (peace be upon him), and we ask Allah the Almighty to bless him and shower him with His Mercy.

Momineen are requested to recite Namaaz-e-Wahshat on Tuesday night and also to recite a Surah Fateha for Marhum Ayatullah Bahjat
